Bloomberg Data Access Guide by QCF includes several guides for downloading data using Bloomberg Excel API. Data Download Quick Start Guide and Data Download Guide are very good guides to API Wizards and BLP functions.

BLP Refresh Tool allows you to refresh a cell, ranges of cells, worksheets and workbooks rather than entire workbooks. Fundamental Excel Wizard by Bloomberg explains how to use the new Fundamental Wizard to access templates available from the Fundamental Analysis function (FA) and customize them in Microsoft Excel.
Bloomberg Calendarized Fundamentals in Excel is a flexible and customizable way to analyze the Bloomberg financial database using the Bloomberg API. Several sample templates and template builders are available for immediate use as well as the tools to help you start from scratch.
How to download historical data for a list of securities from outside of Bloomberg using Bloomberg Excel API provides two methods -- API Wizard and BLPH Functions to download historical data.
