Cites reviews and gives excerpts from them. Includes English-language material only. A non-fiction work must have received reviews in two or more of the journals indexed and the reviews must have appeared within eighteen months of the book's publication date.

Guide to book reviews that includes more than five million review citations from thousands of publications, with linking to more than 630,000 full-text reviews.

Book Review Index to Social Science Periodicals.
4 volumes cover 1964-1974. The purpose of this set is to provide access to book reviews published during the decade before the Social Sciences Index began. Includes reviews of books on a wide range of subjects, the only requirement being that the review appeared in one of the social science journals indexed.

From 1972/73 through 1974/75, book reviews are listed under the subject heading "Book reviews -- single books." Beginning with the 1975/76 volume, there is a separate section of book reviews at the back of every issue.

Internationale Bibliographie der Rezensionen Wissenschaftlicher Literatur. 1971+
English title: International bibliography of book reviews of scholarly literature. Continues a much earlier publication, Bibliographie der Rezensionen (04048.178), which covered 1900-1943. Published in two half-year parts. Each half-year part contains a subject index (Index Rerum) which contains the full citations to the book reviewed and to reviews of it, and an author index (Opera Recensa) which gives the subject heading to look under in the Index Rerum. There is also an index of reviewers and a list of the periodicals indexed, arranged by their identifiying number. This source includes many English-language journals as well as French, Spanish, German and Portuguese.

Journal of Economic Literature. v.7+; 1969+
Contains two sections: "Book Reviews" and "Annotated Listing of New Books." The table of contents of each issue lists the books included in the first section and there is a cumulation of this list in the back of the December issue. Beginning in 1983, the December issue includes an author index to the "Annotated Listing of New books."

Social Sciences Index 1974+
Contained in Wilson's OmniFile. This database contains the book reviews and articles indexed in Social Sciences Index as well as many other indexes.

Wall Street Journal Index. 1958+
In the "General News" section under the subject headings "Books - Authors"and "Books - Titles" there is a listing of books reviewed in the Wall Street Journal. For reviews prior to 1990, use the subject heading "Book Reviews".

Not an index, but a journal containing substantial reviews of books. Covered a wide range of economics, not just books on the stock market. Included an annual index to authors, titles, and reviewers.
