CITING DATASTREAM

When citing, always give the date the search was completed and the name of the database. In general, first give the name of the database, the date searched, and the name of the code searched. When listing how one would obtain the code, repeat the name of the database, the portion of the database searched, and the code's mnemonic. If one is citing multiple codes from one portion of the database, it is not necessary to cite the individual codes.

  • Example 2: Citing many codes all derived from one "publication" in the database
    Datastream International. (January 2, 2007). In International Financial Statistics [Online]. Available: Datastream International/Economics.

  • Example 3: Citing many codes all derived from one section of the database
    Datastream International. (January 3, 2007). [Online]. Available: Datastream International/Equities.

  • Example 4: Citing the database in general
    Datastream International. (January 4, 2007). Available: Datastream International.
