What are the RAND publications series and how do I locate them in the Princeton University Library?

RAND is a nonprofit public policy research institution. It was established after World War II to study national security. In the 1960s it added domestic policy problems to its research agenda. Current areas of research and analysis include national defense, education and training, health care, criminal and civil justice, labor and population, science and technology, community development, international relations, and regional studies. RAND research results are published in several series listed below. Princeton University Library receives the series included in RAND's library subscription program and requests other publications that are not received automatically.

Some RAND documents are available in their entirety on the RAND web site . Research Briefs (RB) and Issue Papers (IP) are available electronically from approximately 1994, Monograph/Reports (MR) and Documented Briefings (DB) from 1993. Their format (HTML or PDF) is indicated in parentheses at the end of each citation.
