Resources listed here represent a selection of the most important primary source collections available at Princeton University Library. The majority of the items listed here are available in the Microforms Collection, Firestone Library, unless another location symbol is given in parenthesis. Many of these microform sets have a user's guide or index in library location "Film B" (bookshelves in the Microforms room). A selection of Latin American and Iberian holdings from the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) have also been included. Major Collections
Princeton University's Latin American Ephemera Collections
During more than two decades, Princeton University Library has developed a Latin American ephemera collection of major research value which is unique in its depth and scope. The collection, which privileges the popular voices of the region, has documented dozens of political and social movements, as well as a wide variety of key socioeconomic and cultural developments. Some of the topics that are well documented are human rights, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, indigenous issues, women and gender issues, the environment, health, education, and religion. Types of materials collected include pamphlets, noncommercially produced and distributed serials, fliers, posters, working papers of research institutes, and government publications.
All of the Latin American Ephemera Collections have been microfilmed and cataloged. Detailed descriptions for individual collections and finding aids are available through the Library's Main Catalog. Those interested in a broad overview of the collections should consult The Guide to the Princeton University Latin American Microfilm Collection and its subsequent supplements (Available in Firestone Library, call number Z1610.G842 1993. NACLA Archive of Latin Americana
The NACLA Archive is an essential and extensive microfilm collection containing ephemera and serials relating to socioeconomic and political conditions in Latin America from the 1960s through the 1980s. The archive is arranged by country and subject. A guide to the archive is available online and in print at F1410 .J636 1999 (Film B).
