  • Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy (PU only)
    Provides full-text articles with current bibliographies on virtually every aspect of philosophy, including Anglo-American, ethical and political, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, continental, and contemporary philosophy. Updated quarterly.

In addition to the main Politics databases we've already discussed, there are several other databases that are useful for locating journal articles, book chapters, working papers, etc.

  • Philosopher's Index (PU only)
    Provides citations to articles and books in all areas of philosophy. The most comprehensive philosophy database. Covers articles published back to 1940.
     
  • POIESIS (PU only)
    Provides searchable full-text articles from over 50 philosophy journals from 1998-present.
     
  • Wilson OmniFile (PU only)
    Multi-disciplinary database providing select full text articles, abstracts, and indexing. Consists of databases for scholarly sources in agriculture, applied science and technology, art, biology, business, education, general science, humanities, law, library and information science, social sciences, as well as popular appeal titles.
     
  • JSTOR (PU only)
    Full text archive of core journals in select disciplines, including political philosophy. Journal issues from the most recent 3-5 years are usually not available electronically through JSTOR.
     
  • ISI Web of Knowledge (PU only)
    Provides two very useful databases for locating articles that cite a known author or work. The Arts & Humanities Citation Index indexes over 1,100 arts and humanities journals published from 1975-present, and the Social Sciences Citation Index indexes more than 1,725 journals across 50 social science disciplines.
